Félix Valdelièvre likes to play with contradictions in his art:

Giving lightness to a material that is supposed to be heavy
Creating movement within rigidity
Exploiting the technical properties of iron to create “stable imbalances”.
Working with patinas to create confusion about the material of his works

The oblong shape is considered by the artist to be a primordial form, in the same way as the sphere or the cube. It has been the common thread running through her artistic approach for the last ten years.
