Félix Valdelièvre plays with notions of lightness and heaviness, movement and rigidity. He seeks to give an impression of lightness to materials that are often perceived as heavy, such as steel, by creating works that appear to be in unstable equilibrium.
His current work focuses on the deconstruction of an oblong volume, which he considers to be a primordial form in the same way as the sphere or the cube. He uses circles in his sculptures to symbolise the cycle, eternal recommencement and life.
