Alain Schwarzstein’s photographs of street art offer a vibrant dialogue between the city walls and the great figures of cinema, like benevolent ghosts returning to haunt our streets.
In the series Ghosts in Street Art, his photomontages superimpose departed stars onto abandoned places, covered in ephemeral graffiti, to question the memory of images and the fragility of street art. Between photography and visual arts, his photographs play on colour, the texture of walls and the almost spectral presence of the characters, as if cinema were prolonging the life of street art before it disappears.
