Hectapalus

Christiane Filliatreau uses gesture and finger touch in a very precise and sensitive way in her modelling process. She uses a tactile approach that emphasises direct contact with the clay. This is how she uses her hands:

• She feels the material, exploring its texture and plasticity.
• She rolls the clay to form pellets or colombins.
• She presses the material to give it shape and consistency.
• Levelling surfaces to make them even.
• It smoothes the elements to refine the texture.
• She assembles the different parts to create the final shape.
