In *Équilibre parallèle*, Julien Allegre plays on the tension between the planes. Large, sharp-edged Corten steel forms extend out in cantilever from a metal plinth. At the front, a mirror-polished stainless steel panel stands vertically, reflecting the sky and the garden. This contrast between the matt rust and the mirror-like surface – between apparent heaviness and lightness – lends the sculpture a balance that is both precarious and controlled. A monumental piece, designed for the outdoors.
