Julien Allègre has developed a unique body of work based on wine filtration plates (wine filters), repurposed from their original function to become engraving matrices. Originating from the world of wine, these technical, porous and layered surfaces already bear the memory of passage and transformation.
With precise and careful movements, the artist reveals their graphic and poetic qualities: lines, voids, tensions and breaths compose sensitive images, somewhere between abstraction and interior landscape. These engravings bear witness to a subtle dialogue between industrial material and artistic intuition, where filtration becomes a metaphor for time and traces.
