With *Anarcholae*, Christiane Filliatreau brings to life an organic form, halfway between the plant, the animal and the imaginary. The material seems to have grown freely, as if guided by a primal energy. The dark reliefs crowning the piece contrast with the weathered whiteness of the body, creating a poetic tension between strength and fragility. A singular, mysterious and deeply living presence.
“Through clay, I seek to bring forth hybrid forms, caught between growth and fossilisation, balance and collapse. The material becomes a sensitive terrain where textures, hollows, strata and outgrowths intermingle, evoking as much the living as the traces left by time. Each sculpture is constructed as a fragment of an imaginary landscape, an organic memory where the mineral seems to come back to life and where the plant world is transformed into fragile architecture.”
